Imagine, Design and Create Bingo Cards - EXCEL
Several years back I was looking for new ways to use EXCEL for instructional purposes. I also found a bingo template for 30 cards from a teacher named Mashburn. The main purpose was to have a fun way to test vocabulary terms. The teacher would read the definition and the students would put a mark on the vocabulary term. The rest was played like regular bingo.
The problem was there was not much in the the way of mixing the words up. So over the years I found you could use the Random Function in EXCEL to mix the words even more. So I created a template that has 5 card, but by using the random function and the sort in EXCEL you can make thousands of different cards with 25 words. Below you can check out my template . ![]()

One tab would be the words and the other the card. They are linked. When you type the word in the word spot, it appears on the bingo cards.
Notice the random column on the Word tab. by Highlighting the both columns of word and number and then pressing the sort button your words will rearrange on the list and on the cards. See Picture below:

This template can be used for many different sets of terms. It would be a good idea to add a header to the cards. You do this by going to the View tab in EXCEL and choosing the Page Layout view to add a header.
You can complete the card by adding color or a center graphic.
These can be saved for review. You can use a plastic sheet cover and the students can put all of their cards in it. Use a water base marker to mark the words and a sponge or a magic sponge to erase. These can be played over and over. It can also be used for any subject matter.
